Beginner's Guide to Betting

Everything you need to start betting on sim racing streams. All bets use virtual currency — never real money.

How It Works

1

Betting Opens

When the streamer enters a race session and cars are on the grid, betting opens. You'll see a message in chat or on the overlay.

2

Place Your Bet

Type !bet <amount> <type> in chat. You're betting on how the streamer will do — there's no driver picker.

3

Settlement

At the checkered flag, bets settle automatically. Winners get paid at the odds locked when they bet. Losers lose their stake.

Key concept: Every race bet is about the streamer — their finish position, whether they crash, their incidents, etc. You never pick another driver.

Placing a Bet

The basic syntax — amount and type can go in any order.

!bet <amount> <type>

Examples: !bet 500 p1  |  !bet p1 500  |  !bet all tow  |  !bet 30% top5

Amount Keywords

500Bet exactly 500
25k25,000 (k = thousands)
2m2,000,000 (m = millions)
all / maxYour entire balance
minThe minimum allowed bet
half50% of your balance
30%30% of your balance (any 1-100%)

When does betting close? This depends on the channel. The default is green flag (race start), but some streamers keep bets open until halfway, the white flag, or even the full race. You'll see a "betting closed" message when the window ends.Set by streamer

Bet Types

Each category can be independently enabled or disabled per channel. If you see "category disabled," try a different type.

Position Bets

!bet 100 3cautionsExactly 3 full-course cautions in the race
!bet 100 over3cautionsMore than 3 cautions
!bet 100 under5cautionsFewer than 5 cautions

Accumulator (Combo) Bets

!bet 100 p1+crashWin AND get towed — both must happen. Odds multiply!
!bet 50 top5+over4xTop 5 AND over 4 incidents
!bet 100 podium+fastestPodium AND fastest lap

Accumulator Rules

  • Combine 2 to 6 legs with +
  • All legs must win for the bet to pay out
  • Odds multiply together (e.g. 3.0x and 5.0x = 15.0x)
  • Conflicting combos are blocked (e.g. p1+p2, dnf+finish, p1+crash)
  • If any individual leg's category is disabled by the streamer, the combo is blocked too

Cash Out

Sell your bet back mid-race for a guaranteed payout — less than a full win but more than zero.

Set by streamerCash out can be enabled/disabled and timing varies
!cashoutSee your available cashout offers (numbered list)
!cashout 1Cash out bet #1 from that list
!cashout p1Cash out all active bets of type "p1"
!cashout allCash out every eligible bet at once

How the value is calculated

value = stake x (locked_odds / current_odds) x (1 - house_cut)
  • Locked odds = the odds when you placed the bet
  • Current odds = live odds right now (shift with race state)
  • House cut = penalty that ramps up through the window (default 10% to 20%)

Availability & Limits

  • Available once the race is ~10% complete (configurable)
  • Closes at ~90% race progress (configurable)
  • Max 3 cashouts per race per viewer (configurable)
  • Must exceed 10% of your original stake to be offered
  • Already-won legs (e.g. crash after tow) pay full value, no penalty

How Odds Work

Odds are dynamic — they change based on live race data. Higher odds = less likely but bigger payout.

Before the Race

Odds are calculated from the starting grid position, field skill ratings (iRating), track difficulty, and the streamer's historical crash/DNF rates. Front of the grid = lower odds.

During the Race

Odds update live based on current position, race progress, incident count, and pit status. Leading the race? P1 odds drop. Just crashed? Crash odds are gone but position odds rise.

Payout = stake x odds. Minimum odds: 1.01x. No maximum cap.

Streamer protections that may affect your betting:

  • High Roller min bet — viewers with big balances face a higher minimum bet percentage (20% base, up to 50%)
  • Whale odds floor — very rich viewers may be blocked from betting on near-certainties below a minimum odds threshold
  • Anti-snipe protection — prevents betting on obvious outcomes late in the race by raising min odds and capping stake
  • Pit stop smoothing — odds don't spike during pit cycles (prevents sniping temporary position drops)

All of these are toggleable per channel. Most channels have High Roller on and others off by default.

Limits & Economy

The economy runs on virtual currency — the name differs per channel.

Betting Limits

  • Min bet: 20% of your balance (higher for High Rollers)
  • Max bet: No limit — bet your entire balance with "all"
  • Max bets per race: Typically 5 (set by streamer, 1-50)
  • Duplicates: One active bet per exact type per race

Going Broke & Recovery

  • Auto-replenish: Back to starting balance after race settles
  • Cooldown: 5-minute wait between replenishes
  • Limit: Max 1 replenish per race session
  • Loans: Some channels let you !loan currency (auto-repays from winnings)

High Roller Tiers

If your balance grows well above the channel average, you move into higher tiers with increased minimum bets:

-
Regular
20% min
Rising Star
21-29% min
🎰
High Roller
30-39% min
🐋
Whale
40-50% min

High Roller scaling can be toggled on/off by the streamer. When off, everyone pays 20% minimum.

Boosts & Minigames

Some channels have minigames that can award betting boosts. Check with !boosts.

Set by streamerMinigames and boosts may not be available on every channel

Odds Boost

Your next race bet gets multiplied odds (e.g. +20%). Consumed when you place the bet. Win from !slots.

Balance Shield

If your next bet loses, you get a percentage refunded (e.g. 30% back). Consumed on loss. Win from !slots.

Jackpot Boost

Multiplies your contribution to the progressive jackpot. Increases your chance of triggering the big payout.

Available Minigames (if enabled)

!slots <amount> — Slot machine spins
!roulette <amount> <bet> — Roulette round
!bj <amount> — Blackjack table
!horse <amount> <#> — Horse racing

FAQ

Why can't I bet on a crash/tow here?
The streamer can enable or disable individual bet categories. If you see "category disabled," that bet type is turned off for this channel. Try other types like position or top 5 bets.
Why is my minimum bet so high?
If your balance is well above average, the High Roller system kicks in. It raises your min bet percentage (from 20% up to 50%) to keep things competitive. It's a compliment — you're doing well!
What currency am I betting with?
Every channel has its own virtual currency with a custom name (e.g. "potatoes," "coins," "bucks"). It's never real money. The name depends on what the streamer chose.
I went broke! How do I get more?
You'll be automatically replenished (typically 500) after the next race settles. There's a 5-minute cooldown and max 1 replenish per race. Some channels also give a login bonus just for chatting.
Can I bet on a specific driver other than the streamer?
No. All bets are on the streamer's outcome. You're betting on how they finish, whether they crash, their incidents, etc.
What does "odds boost" from slots do?
If you win an odds boost from !slots, your next race bet gets multiplied odds (e.g. +20%). It's consumed when you place the bet. Check !boosts to see if you have one active.
Why did my cashout value go down?
Cashout value = your stake times (original odds / current odds) minus a house cut. If the streamer is doing worse since you bet, your winning probability dropped and so did the cashout. The house cut also ramps up later in the race.
I see "anti-snipe" blocking my bet. What is that?
Some channels enable anti-snipe protection to prevent betting on near-certain outcomes late in the race. It enforces higher minimum odds and lower stake caps as the race nears completion.
Why did betting close already? The race isn't even halfway!
The streamer sets when bets close. Default is green flag, but some use halfway, white flag, or full race. Each channel is different.
What's an accumulator / combo bet?
Combine 2-6 bets into one using + (e.g. !bet 100 p1+crash). ALL legs must win for the bet to pay out, but the odds multiply together for a bigger potential payout.
